ISP Block Locator Guides

Quick steps to find and disable security shields, Web Guard, & parental controls in popular ISP portals.

Helpful Tip: Internet Service Providers often enable default security filters (like Security Shield, Web Guard, or ActiveArmor) that can unintentionally block streaming or connection traffic. Follow the guide for your provider below to disable these filters.
Internet Service Providers

Spectrum

My Spectrum app → Services → Internet → Security Shield

  1. Open the My Spectrum app.
  2. Navigate to Services → Internet → Security Shield → View All → Security Shield Settings.
  3. Under Advanced Settings, toggle Security Shield OFF.
  4. If the option is hidden, scroll past the chat icon in the app.
  5. Reboot your router for changes to take effect.

T-Mobile

Web Guard (Mobile Lines) & Advanced Security (Home Internet)

For T-Mobile Mobile / Phone Lines
  1. Log in to the T-Mobile app or website.
  2. Go to Profile → Family Controls → Web Guard.
  3. Set Web Guard to No Filtering or Low.
  4. Save changes.
  • Device Content Filters: Check your phone's browser or device settings for built-in content blockers (Safari, Chrome, Android DNS).
For T-Mobile Home Internet
  1. Open the T-Mobile Internet app.
  2. Go to Manage → Settings (gear icon) → Security.
  3. Turn off Advanced Cyber Security.
  4. Locate Web Guard settings (if present) and set to No Filtering.
  5. Restart the gateway/router if prompted.

Xfinity (Comcast)

Xfinity app or xFi portal → Advanced Security

Using the Xfinity App
  1. Open the Xfinity app.
  2. Go to Security → Advanced Security and turn it OFF.
Using the Website
  1. Log in to your Xfinity account.
  2. Go to My Services → xFi Advanced Security → Disable.
  • If no toggle is available in your portal, contact Xfinity Support to disable Advanced Security manually.

AT&T (ActiveArmor)

Smart Home Manager → Disable ActiveArmor → Verify Disabled

  1. Open the Smart Home Manager app.
  2. Tap the chat bubble icon and type "Disable ActiveArmor".
  3. Confirm when prompted.
  4. Verify that Home Network Security = Disabled in the app or gateway settings.
  5. If using ActiveArmor Advanced (paid tier), cancel the feature subscription first within the app.

Verizon Fios

My Fios app or router admin portal (192.168.1.1)

App Method
  1. Open the My Fios app.
  2. Go to Internet → Network Settings → Home Network Protection / Parental Controls → Off.
Router Gateway Method
  1. Navigate to myfiosgateway.com or 192.168.1.1 in your browser and log in.
  2. Go to Parental Controls / Advanced Security → Disable.
  • If McAfee-powered Home Network Protection is active, turn it off directly inside the My Fios app.

Virgin Media

My Virgin Media → Online Security → Web Safe

  1. Log in to My Virgin Media account portal.
  2. Go to Account Settings → Online Security → Web Safe.
  3. Toggle both Child Safe and Virus Safe to Off.
  4. Restart your Virgin Media Hub to apply changes across all connected devices.
  5. If Web Safe re-enables automatically, contact customer support to permanently opt out.

Starlink

Starlink app → Settings → Router → Content Filtering

  1. Open the Starlink app on your mobile device.
  2. Navigate to Settings → Router → Content Filtering.
  3. Select No Filtering (instead of "Malware" or "Malware + Adult").
  4. Save settings and optionally restart your router.

Bell Canada

Bell Wi-Fi app / Home Hub portal (192.168.2.1) / McAfee

  1. Bell Wi-Fi App: Open app → Connected Devices → Disable Restrictions.
  2. Home Hub (192.168.2.1): Log in in browser → Access Control → Delete Schedules / Unblock Devices.
  3. McAfee Security from Bell: Go to Parental Controls → Turn Off.

Rogers (Canada Home)

Ignite WiFi Hub app/portal → Profiles → Parental Controls

  1. Open the Rogers Ignite WiFi Hub app or web portal.
  2. Go to Parental Controls / Ignite WiFi → Profiles.
  3. Remove or disable active content filters and downtime schedules.

Rogers (Mobile / Cell Phone)

Rogers Xfinity app → Security → Advanced Security

  1. Launch the Rogers Xfinity app on your mobile device.
  2. Tap the Security tab or navigate to Settings.
  3. Locate Advanced Security, Xfi Shield, or Advanced Threat Protection.
  4. Toggle the setting OFF.
  5. Relaunch the app to confirm the setting was saved.
  • If the toggle is missing, verify that your login is designated as the primary account holder.

Flow (Caribbean ISP)

My Flow portal/app → Web Filtering / Family Filter

  1. Log in to the My Flow app or online customer portal.
  2. Go to Internet Settings → Web Filtering / Family Filter.
  3. Toggle to Off or Opt Out.
  4. Reboot your modem/router.

Primus (Canada)

TP-Link Deco app → HomeShield → Parental Controls

  1. Open the TP-Link Deco app.
  2. Go to HomeShield → Parental Controls and delete or disable profiles.
  3. Under Network Security, turn off ad blocking and safe search.

Eastlink (Canada)

eero app → Discover → Security & Privacy

  1. Open the eero app.
  2. Go to Discover → Security & Privacy.
  3. Toggle Advanced Security / Ad Blocking OFF.
  4. Under Profiles, remove content filter restrictions.

Ziply Fiber

Ziply Device Safety app → Parental Controls

  1. Open the Ziply Device Safety app on your device.
  2. Go to Parental Controls → Toggle Off.
  3. On Windows: disable Content Blocker in settings or uninstall Device Safety.
